As of January 6th the Regulations were made. This means that the Regulations have become law and the 12-week grace period has begun.
The Regulations cover providers delivering CQC regulated activities, and apply to anyone employed or engaged who has direct integrations with patients or service users.
February 3rd is the last date the first dose of the vaccination can be received to ensure the second dose can be administered before then end of the grace period.
By April 1st all staff in scope must be fully vaccinated or have secured a medical exemption.
In theory once all staff are vaccinated (other than the exempt) we should see a drastic drop in confirmed COVID cases in care homes and hospitals.
