Network Healthcare is currently recruiting for Children Support Workers to support young people in the community in the Aylesbury area between the ages of 8years-19 years old.

Our clients are often Looked after Children who are placed with Foster Carers or in Children’s home so understanding and empathy is a key skill that is required for this role. In addition to this our young people can sometimes have difficulties including mental health needs, challenging behaviour or learning disabilities that may include autism, epilepsy or ADHD so it would be useful to be experienced or have some knowledge in this area.

The role will involve you collecting the young person from their placement address or school and taking them out into the community to undertake planned activities such as shopping, cinema, bowling etc. The minimum hours we will book staff for would be for 6 hours so you can expect to be booked for at least this amount of time however it is often longer than this.

Due to the nature of the work it is essential staff have a full UK driving licence with access to a car with valid business insurance, tax and MOT.

In order to be considered for this role staff must:

Have experience of supporting children and young people

Have a driving licence, access to a vehicle and business insurance and prepared to take young people out in their vehicle

Be confident in taking young people out in the community alone

Be willing to undertake activities with the young person such as bowling and engage positively with them

Have a good level of written and spoken English and be able to confidently write detailed contact reports on the events of the day and young person’s well being

Be able to confidently communicate with other professionals where required such as Foster Carers, parents, Hospital Workers, EDT and Police

Be reliable and have excellent time keeping skills

Each child is risk assessed and pay rate is dependent on their needs, the role and risks involved. You will be fully briefed and background information provided on each young person prior to undertaking any work with them.

Due to the nature of the role we can not always guarantee that work will be directly in Aylesbury so ask you are prepared to travel up to 20 miles outside of Aylesbury. All mileage and travelling time incurred whilst with the young person will be paid.
